According to their Facebook page, Kymco is planning on importing a 700 cc scooter to Canada.

As every scootist knows, maxi-scooters have really caught on in the last few years. Kymco has a 300 and a 500 in their lineup already, Suzuki has a 400 and a 650, Honda has a new 300, and even BMW has jumped in on the action with a couple of 650 scoots.

The MyRoad 700i is a hefty machine, but has plenty of horsepower and braking power to speed you up or slow you down, as needed.

But now, if Kymco does indeed import a true 700 into Canada, they’ll be selling the biggest maxi-scoot that’s imported into this country. There are larger machines in other markets (like the Aprilia SRV 850), but they haven’t made it here yet.

What scooter could it be? Kymco may be putting together a new 700, but they already have a 700 that was supposed to make it to the US last year, the MyRoad 700i. It has a liquid-cooled parallel twin motor (699 cc, DOHC) with twin two-piston caliper brakes up front and single two-piston caliper in back, and ABS.

It needs all that braking power, because it weighs 608 lbs at the curb. That’s a lot more than your average 49 cc putt-putt, but it also has a claimed 59 hp and 49 ft-lb of torque, so users should still enjoy the experience.
