Progressive updates 970 series shocks

Obviously, if you've got bags on your bike's back end, it will be difficult to adjust the suspension. Progressive's new version of the 970 shocks fits that problem. Their looks might be another issue, though.
Obviously, if you’ve got bags on your bike’s back end, it will be difficult to adjust the suspension. Progressive’s new version of the 970 shocks fits that problem. Their looks might be another issue, though.

Progressive Suspension is updating their 970 series of shocks, with new units featuring remote reservoirs.

Progressive’s 970 series of piggyback shocks offers better handling for several dual-shock motorcycles, including Triumph Thruxtons and a few different Harley-Davidson models.

But the piggyback gas reservoirs weren’t always suitable for bagger applications, so the company has made the shocks available with remote reservoirs, making it easier for riders to dial in their ride, since the reservoirs mount in front of the bags.

The shocks are available in 12- or 13-inch lengths, for Harley-Davidson baggers from 1993 to 2013, and come in standard or heavy spring rates. They aren’t cheap – US MSRP is $1249.99. However, anyone who wants to ride a bagger hard will likely find these a much better upgrade than loud pipes or a custom paint job.
