Ural sales up – again

Say it ain't so! Ural has updated their classic machines with EFI and other tweaks.
Ural motorcycles continue to sell well, even though they aren't exactly cheap.

Who’s buying all these Urals?

Apparently, the novelty of owning a sidecar is still appealing to many customers, because Ural is reporting ann 11 per cent growth in 2013’s first quarter sales, as opposed to their 2012 numbers.

That’s a trend that’s been continuing for a while for the Russian bike builders; while they once cranked out hacks for the Communist home market, they seem to be seeing their greatest success yet with the fall of the Iron Curtain.

The company says they are aiming for 30 per cent growth this year – a very ambitious target.

Interestingly, 75 per cent of the Urals sold in Q1 were models with on-demand 2wd – their VP credits the long winter in many parts of the world this year for those sales.
