Last winter, we heard KTM was working on a fully-faired version of its 390 Duke hot rod. Now, we know when to expect it.

Mash that Moto3 racer up with this 390 Duke, and you'll get KTM's new RC390.

According to Cycle News, there will be a sport version of the 390 on display at EICMA this year. Supposedly, the machine will be based on their existing Moto 3 racebike. There will also be fully-faired versions of KTM’s 125 and 200 Duke machines en route.

Another interesting tidbit from that story: KTM’s CEO says his company is planning to promote their machines through racing, by establishing spec series around the world, especially in developing markets. Could the RC390 have its own class in CSBK racing in a few years?

  1. I’m guessing the RC390 will make pretty much the ultimate track-day toy at places such as Grand Bend and Shannonville. I’m very much looking forward to seeing it. My last giant killer was a ’79 Daytona Special. The 390 could be just the ticket to a great time.
