Saskatchewan motorcyclists may not see their insurance jump as much as they first feared.

In mid-February, we told you Saskatchewan Government Insurance is talking about raising insurance rates for motorcyclists an average of 73 per cent. Some motorcyclists could see rates jump over 400 per cent.

CBC is reporting the province’s premier Brad Wall says the issue will be discussed when the legislature sits in the spring. He said on Twitter, “We are considering having SGI take another look at this.”

Our suggestion to Saskatchewan motorcyclists? Talk to your MLA as soon as possible, and make your feelings clear.

  2. I strongly urge everyone affected to get vocal and vicious asap. We got screwed over big time here in Quebec by the SAAQ registration hikes and sportbike blacklist – despite our attempts to negotiate, fight back, and protest. The media completely ignored us, and several large protest rallies were swept under the rug. Don’t let the same happen to Saskatchewan riders!
