Cleveland Cyclewerks says they are going to sell a 450 cc dual sport in the U.S.
Hell For Leather reported this week that CCW will sell their machine (dubbed the “Hooligun”) at $6,000 – that’s cheaper than Suzuki’s DR-Z 400 in the U.S., but not by much.
The Hooligun will have an aluminum frame, liquid-cooled single-cylinder four-valve motor, aluminum frame,, and USD forks. We don’t know if the suspension is adjustable. Supposedly, the bike weighs 260 lbs, ready to ride.
Along with the street-and-trail version, there will also be a supermoto model, according to pictures. Of course, pictures are all we have to go by right now – as far as we can tell, these things aren’t anywhere near the U.S. yet.
Scott Colosimo, CCW’s founder and head honcho, has been teasing the company’s ambitions to build higher-spec bikes for a while now, but it’s taken them a long time to bring them to market in the U.S. and Canada. Even his air-cooled chopper and standard models seem to take a while to get rolling.
Several comments on the Hell For Leather web page are also indicating the new Hooligun looks very similar to a couple existing made-in-China dual sports, including the Christini AWD machine we told you about a few weeks ago. Without seeing one in person, we can’t say how much of that is true.
