Welcome back, Rossi

He's wearing Yamaha colours now, not Ducati - but he's still with Monster, and his team is, too. Monster even bought out Jorge Lorenzo's contract with Rockstar energy drinks.

Valentino Rossi back with Yamaha’s MotoGP team in 2013, and his sponsor has come with him.

MotoGP racing is expensive business, and high-dollar sponsors are key to running a team.

So, when Rossi’s sponsor Monster energy drinks signed a deal with Yamaha (reportedly giving them $4 million a year), you can bet they were pretty pleased. Maybe that’s why they put this video together?

  1. As I understand it, the sponsorship is worth some €4,000,000, which is somewhere in the vicinity of CAD$5.17 million. The sponsorship covers Rossi and Yamaha, as well as buying out Lorenzo’s Rockstar energy drink sponsorship. Monster didn’t want to see Rockstar featured on Lorenzo’s livery, so they bought out the sponsor via a contract clause.
