We’ve been focusing on EICMA all week long, but we haven’t forgotten about the Baja 1000. It kicked off in Ensenada this morning, so competitors should be well underway.
Honda’s dominated the Baja race for years, but this year, they’ve been shut out of the podium in short versions of the race held earlier in the year (Kawasaki and KTM won them). Will they be unseated at the 1000?
We’ll know for sure tomorrow, but it’s interesting to see they’ve got Johnny Campbell signed up as a back-up rider again. Campbell has been content to just manage the JCR/Honda team the last couple years, so it’d be interesting to see what would happen if he ended up back in the saddle. He’s signed up to race Dakar this winter, so Baja could be good practice …
