EICMA 2012: Cool Kawi custom

Classic styling? Check. Cool chrome mufflers? Check. Retro Kawi tank badges? Check. Production ready? We’re not sure … Photo: VL

Take a look at this Kawasaki custom our photographer spotted at EICMA.

An air-cooled Z1000? Nope, the rad is hidden in the machine’s rear. Photo: VL

It’s built from a current Z1000 naked bike, but it’s obviously based on the classic Z1 900, Kawasaki’s original muscle bike. We don’t know much about it – we’re not sure if it’s a one-off, or a concept bike.

We do know where they hid the radiator, though! Supposedly, it’s tucked away in the bike’s nether regions, where fans blow air on it. It looks cool, but if it ever made it to production, we can see that system being a problem, if something fails.

But for now, enjoy the shots! It’s certainly a cool looking machine.
