The minimalist pillion pad seems to be there mainly for appearances’ sake. Check out that new exhaust placement!

There are new spy shots of the 2013 Triumph Daytona floating around the internet, allegedly showing Hinkley’s latest tweaks for their 675 cc sport bike.

While some are saying the shots first popped up on www.675.cc, posters there say the photos are also going around by email, so who knows where they originated? The pics look like they came from a dealer meeting or something similar, though.

What changes are evident? Well, the bodywork’s been re-sculpted, and the underseat exhaust has been relocated – now it’s got a GP-style unit. The rear subframe has also been tweaked a bit, and the tail section is slimmer.

We don’t know exactly who these photos came from, so it’s possible they’re a clever fake, but unlikely.

We also don’t know if the motor has been tweaked at all. We’ll know more details, of course, when the official press releases start to flow; by the time EICMA is over, all should be revealed.

Reaction to these spy shots has been mixed in the interwebs forums. Some users like the looks of the new bike, others say they aren’t happy. Of course, the ultimate test will come when it hits showroom floors, and we certainly don’t have all the information for the bike at this point.

Here’s a side shot.
