The Xinhua News Agency this morning is reporting that 13 people died after an overloaded motorcycle  fell off a bridge in China.

You know it most likely happens more often than it is reported, but 13 passengers were killed after a heavily overloaded three-wheeled motorcycle rode off a stone bridge in southeast China’s Fujian province.

An additional seven people were injured, making the possible payload 20 passengers.

It’s common for villagers in China to carry several passengers on motorcycles. Aside from the obvious safety issues, they rarely wear helmets.
