The VRRA’s Summer Classic races run this weekend, Friday-Sunday, at Shannonville Motorsports Park, just outside Belleville, Ont. Here are the details.

There’ll be bikes from the 1950s to the 1990s, with over 140 racers and crews competing on the weekend.

There’s an endurance race Friday, practice and qualifying races Saturday, and sprint race finals on Sunday. There will be sidecar racing, along with the usual solo motorcycle racing.

If spectators wish, they can take part in the Pro 6 Cycle-sponsored “Try the Track” lap sessions for non-racers.

On Saturday and Sunday, riders can pay $20 for 20 minutes of track time during the races’ lunch break.

If you’re feeling flush, you can even drop another $20 and EMC-Belleville community newspaper editor Terry Bush will take you for some hot laps as a passenger in his racing sidecar rig. Proceeds from these events go to Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Rock 107`s Lone Star Texas Grill Lovely Ladies will also be there this weekend.

Admission is $25 for the weekend, $10 for Saturday, and $15 for Sunday; children 12 and under get in free with an adult. Parking, camping, and programs are free. Gates open to the public at 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
