Pro racer Chris Peris is taking his riding school north, with a session July 5 and 6 in Gimli, Manitoba.

Peris has raced all over the world, taking part in CSBK, AMA, World Superbike and Superstock series, and the 125 World GP. He’s been running a riding school south of the border for  while, and this will be the first time his classes are offered in Canada.

The two days will use track and classroom time, one-on-one instruction, and videotaping to help riders improve.

The school is 75 per cent sold out already, so if you’re interested, head to their website and get more information, while there are still seats available.

  1. The Gimli Glider is the nickname of an Air Canada aircraft that was involved in a notable aviation incidentin July 1983. On 23 July, Air Canada Flight 143, a Boeing 767-200 jet, ran out of fuel at an altitude of 41,000 feet (12,500 m) ASL, about halfway through its flight from Montreal toEdmonton via Ottawa.

  2. I believe that the Gimli track was the site of the glider landing by Air Canada of a 747. Hopefully the landing strip will be closed during the racing course!
