Nominations close this Saturday for the Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame’s 2012 induction ceremony.

The hall’s goal is to honour the women and men who have excelled in competitive disciplines like racing, and the individuals or organizations who have helped advance motorcycling in Canada. The members are inducted at an annual banquet, held this year on Saturday, November 3 in Montreal.

Kellee Irwin, one of the hall’s chairs, is hoping to broaden the shrine’s geographical relevance this year.

“Though the Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame Selection Committee will accept nominations from across Canada, we are actively collaborating with our member federations and urging the motorcycling community in Quebec and Atlantic Canada to nominate their motorcycling legends, champions and heroes as soon as possible,” he says.

The Hall of Fame was founded by Bar and Hedy Hodson in 1999, and since its first induction banquet in 2006, 74 members have been inducted.
