Phillip Island is getting to be a dangerous place.
In the last few days of testing, Eugene Laverty, John Hopkins, and David Salom were all injured in crashes. Now, you can add Leon Haslam to that list.
Haslam was injured when he crashed in the final left-hander of the opening of the official Phillip Island test. He couldn’t stand up on his own after the crash, so he was taken to hospital, where doctors found he had broken bones in his heel and leg.
Like any good racer, of course, Haslam wants to keep on going, and he’s reportedly considering asking doctors to screw his fractured tibia together, so he can race this weekend.
