Two big shows are running this weekend, the Atlantic Motorcycle and ATV Show in Moncton, and the Canadian Motorsports Expo in Toronto.
Riders from all over the Maritimes attend the Moncton show to see what manufacturers have in store this year. Most of the major manufacturers will be there again this year, along with parts distributors and aftermarket companies. The Yamaha Riding Academy returns for kids, and there will be scooter demos for mature female riders on Friday and Saturday night.
In what’s likely a first for the Moncton show, Harley-Davidson will be pulling the wraps off two new models, the Softail Slim and the Seventy-Two.
Adventure rider and author Rene Cormier will be giving presentations at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 1 p.m. Sunday. Local mechanic Mike Milligan will be giving tech talk sessions at various times, and there will also be traditional Mi’kmaq dancing. You can view these events, and more, at the show’s site here.
The show opens at the Moncton Coliseum Friday at noon, and runs until 9 p.m.; it runs 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and students, and free for children 10 and under. A three-day pass is $15, and you can get a discount coupon for your ticket here.
This weekend’s other big show goes down Friday-Sunday at Toronto’s International Centre. The Canadian Motorsports Expo seems to mostly have car-focused content, but there’s stuff there for motorcyclists, too. Check out the show’s website here.
The Expo runs 1 p.m.-9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $18 for adults, $12 for youths and seniors (aged 10-15, or 65+), and free for children 9 and under.
