It appears Jorge Lorenzo is back on top of his game.

Yamaha’s crack rider, the 2010 world champion, was the fastest in yesterday’s MotoGP test in Sepang, followed by Dani Pedrosa,  Cal Crutchlow and Ben Spies.

Of course, he wasn’t facing any challenge from the 2011 champ – Casey Stoner pulled a muscle while stretching in the morning, and took the day off to rest.

And what about Valentino Rossi? Reports say he loved the new Ducati GP12 yesterday, finishing fifth in the testing. Supposedly, the new twin-spar aluminum chassis is finally giving him the front-end feel that he was searching for all last season, which could mean he’ll be one of this year’s top competitors.
