Andrea Dovizioso underwent the surgeon’s knife Saturday, to repair a broken shoulder.

The Monster Yamaha Tech 3 rider sustained the injury to his clavicle last week while practicing for the 2012 MotoGP season on a motocross bike.

Dovizioso’s doctor says the rider should be ready for the Jan. 31 MotoGP test, barring any complications. He’s the second MotoGP rider injured recently – Nicky Hayden managed to break a shoulder and some ribs while practicing back in December.
