Brett McCormick almost went undefeated in this year’s Canadian Superbike Championship, so, what’s left to conquer?

Easy answer: Not happy with just pounding his Canadian competition to the ground, McCormick is headed down to New Jersey Motorsports Park to run in the AMA Pro Superbike Championship finale.

McCormick told Roadracingworld.com that he “put together some money and decided to come down on my own,” to see how he’d stack up in the AMA and to look for more racing opportunities in the future, as well as extend his season. Now he’s got to get used to running the series-spec Dunlop tires on his bike, instead of the Pirellis he ran all season as spec in the Canadian series.

Of course, this isn’t McCormick’s first AMA race, or even his first time at NJMP; he finished tenth here once last year, and ninth overall in last year’s AMA Pro Superbike series. He says he doesn’t know what to expect this weekend until he gets on the track, but he’d like to finish around the top five.
