It seems there’s a little shuffling going on at the top of BMW Group Canada, with the current CEO headed out and a new big boss taking over in September.

The Canadian arm of the German motor company, which includes motorcycle group BMW Motorrad Canada, announced that president and CEO Manfred Braunl has left the company. His replacement will be Eduardo Villaverde, who is currently president and CEO of BMW Group Spain.

There’s no word as to the reason behind these moves. BMW is still selling plenty of motorcycles in Canada – June 2011 sales were down a bit from the previous year’s, but that could be partly due to strong sales in May. It could be related to the BMW’s luxury car sales – now second to Mercedes in Canada – or it could have nothing to do with any sales numbers at all.
