If your Ducati’s on the recall list, be sure to get its fuel pump seal checked.

Recall #: 2011031 (Ducati Safety Recall# RCL-10-005)

Models Involved: 2006 Ducati Monster 620 Dark, 2006 Ducati Multistrada 620, 2007-2009 Ducati Multistrada 1100S, 2005-2006 Ducati Multistrada 1000S, 2003-2006 Ducati Multistrada 1000

Number of Vehicles: 300

Problem: On certain motorcycles, the seal between the fuel pump and the fuel tank could leak.  Fuel leakage, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire.

Correction: Dealer will replace the original flange seal with an updated version.

Make sure your 2011 Spyder’s reverse is working properly.

Recall #: 2011056

Models Involved: 2011 Can-Am Spyder
 RT

Number of Vehicles: 68

Problem: On certain Can-Am Spyder RT, equipped with an SM5 transmission, it may be possible to inadvertently engage reverse gear while downshifting, without first depressing the reverse button.

If this happens while the vehicle is moving forward, the rear wheel could lock and the engine could stall. If this occurs while the vehicle is stopped, a rider, twisting the grip to apply throttle, may find the vehicle going in reverse rather than forward as expected, possibly resulting in a crash.

Correction: Dealers will validate proper operation of the reverse actuator and, if defective, will replace the reverse actuator assembly.
