Market growing by millions

World market growing, and she’s helping.

The global market for motorcycles, scooters and mopeds will
reach 75 million units in five years, according to a report by an industry
think-tank.

"Motorcycles, Scooters & Mopeds: A Global Strategic
Business Report" announced by Global Industry Analysts Inc., says the need for
low-cost, fuel-efficient transportation in crowded cities and third-world
countries will drive the growth.

The report says the Asia-Pacific market dominates the world
motorcycle market, with "untapped and vast growing markets of China, India,
Indonesia, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Thailand" representing huge and growing demand
for motorcycles and smaller two-wheeled vehicles.

It also says motorcycles are the most successful category.
"Demand for motorcycles far exceeds that of scooters and mopeds," the report
says.

It predicts that 2010 will continue to be a year of
recession, however, with the worst effects felt in developed nations. However,
as the economy begins to improve, there is demand for new models, and
motorcycle manufacturers are faced with the task of revising their business
methods to compete in the modern economy, the report says.

  1. What the M/C Industry here in North Am. needs is for more of the models currently available in Europe and Asia to be made available here … and I not talking about the kind astride the Bike in the pic above (though that wouldn’t be too bad either! LOL!)
