Be a Motors Master

sm_ebaymotors-contest.jpg Ebay is running a contest to find the best "enthusiasts in muscle cars, tuners, off-road vehicles, and motorcycles," and guess what? Canadians are eligible.

You’ll have to record a short video about your motorcycle project and explain why you deserve to be called a "Motors Master" (nothing to do with Canadian Tire, fortunately) and shipped with your project bike off to Las Vegas for the 2009 Specialty Equipment Market Association show in November. Upload your video to eBay, and you’re in. Sweet.

If you win, you also get an eBay Motors shopping spree.

Here’s a little note from the eBay site to help you better understand their methodology:

The top projects will be selected based on the entrants’ videos and their written descriptions of how they used eBay Motors to fuel their projects and why they should be chosen a 2009 Motors Master. The initial round of votes to determine the finalists in each category will be cast by members of the public who visit the site to rate the videos and view the entrants’ descriptions (based on a scale of one to five stars) along with a panel of expert judges. Expert judges from the automotive industry will review the Finalists’ submissions and determine the Grand Prize winner for each category. The celebrity judging panel experts will consist of:

• Famous Rhodes, director of eBay Motors
• Peter MacGillivray, vice president, events and communications, SEMA
• John Neff, editor-in-chief of Autoblog
• Paul Crowe, editor-in-chief of thekneeslider.com
• Rob Einaudi, editor-in-chief of CarDomain
