New York state police are targetting motorcycle riders at the giant Americade rally, according to some reports.

Police were said to have pulled over a group of more than 120 riders on Friday and searched them all in a rest area. Forty-eight tickets were issued.

Police defend their actions, claiming it’s in the cause of safety. Of course, if they ticket even a small fraction of the expected 50,000 Americade attendees, it’ll be in the name of money, too. Lots of money.

Americade runs all week long in upstate New York.

  1. What were the tickets for? Not enough lights on the front disc brake covers? Too many stuffed animals on the tail trunk? Not exceeding by GVWR by at least 100kg?
