Motorcycles bad, money good

honda.jpgHonda experienced a worldwide decline in motorcycle sales for the first half this year, compared to the first six months of 2006. The company sold 4,586,000 motorcycles, down 11.7% from the year before.

Much of the drop occurred in Asia, while increased sales were found in Latin America. At the same time, the company’s total consolidated net income for the first half of the year jumped to $3,245-million US, an increase of more than 38%.

The increase in revenues was mostly due to car sales and currency translation effects.
